The first wines Batič - in the sixteenth century - were the product of the monks of the Batič estate in Sempas (Slovenia). Since then a lot has changed and there are nauweijks still find traces of the monks. The murals have faded, the names of the monks and the forgotten remains of the Chapel of St. Rok disappeared under an ivy planted by someone wierns name is also forgotten.

The only legacy of the monks is the knowledge and tradition with regard to making quality wines, which has been passed on generation to generation for four hundred years. The wines of Batič more than a tribute to the good works of the monks, they are a continuation of their tradition and method.
